Paul Cormier (aka Boston or It’s Me), 69, of Riverview passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024 at Maison Albert House Hospice following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Armand and Lillian (Taylor) Cormier. Paul liked to point out that he was their middle child as explanation for some of the weird and wonderful predicaments in which he found himself.
Paul spent most of his career in marketing and sales, most recently employed with Fenety Marketing Services (Atlantic) Ltd. Being a man of many talents his resume also included soccer coach, amateur chef (hamburger or KD never stood a chance when he was in the kitchen), undercover agent and songwriter.
He made many long-lasting friendships through his love of sports and music. He was an accomplished golfer and enjoyed countless hours on the golf course with his B Tour buddies. As a musician he played keyboards with a number of bands and artists from the Maritimes and Ontario. When with the band Trypp he was over the moon when their music received airtime on a Toronto radio station.
A quiet man (except when the morphine kicked in) he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Roadtrips with Paul were especially entertaining. What happens on the road stays on the road. Right Paul?
He will be dearly missed by his wife Dawn Miller; daughters Danielle (Matt); Leigh-Anne Gillespie (Armin); and son Alex; sisters Suzanne (Ben) Doucet, Carol-Anne Cormier, and Diane (Leandre) Leger; brother Peter (Carla) and Sister-in-Law Karen Miller as well as his grandchild Theodore Gillespie. He is also survived by nephews Armand (godson) and Pierrot and nieces Marianne, Lil and Suzie. His two cats Annie and Theodore will miss him very much.
As per Paul’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. Interment and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Paul wants to be remembered with smiles and laughter, not with tears.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road Riverview (506-869-2007).
