April 22, 1936 – April 27, 2025

Paul Louis Gaudet, 89, of Moncton passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, at The Moncton Hospital. He was born in St. Anselme, NB to the late Louis and Evelyn (Jones) Gaudet.

Paul worked at CN for almost forty years beginning as a call boy and finished as a ‘chauffeur’.  A self-proclaimed "car-a-holic", Paul loved his cars and kept them in pristine condition – with a new one every three years.  Upon retirement, he took up swimming at St. Pat’s and never forgave them when they closed to the public.  One of Paul’s proudest moments was chauffeuring the Belgium Delegates during the Francophonie Summit. He and Missy delivered meals to seniors for many years.

Paul is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth (McDonald) "Missy"  Gaudet, and his children; Elizabeth Smeltzer (late Bob), Louise Boudreau (Emery), Lynette LeBlanc, Veronica Leger (Roger Gould), and Mathieu Gaudet; his grandchildren; Angela, Dallas, Crystal, David, Angela, Maria, Michael, Luke, Corina, Emily, and Marissa; as well as his great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; his sisters Jeanette (Rene) Leger, Carol (Merle) McCrea, June Gallant (Joseph Noel), and brother; Ron (Carolyn).

Besides his parents, Paul is predeceased by his sister Eileen Cormier (late Laurie), and Shirley Cormier (late Norman).

The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (506-869-2007) on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 6:00-8:00pm with parish prayers at 7:30pm.  A mass will take place from Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday, May 1st at 11:00am.  Donations may be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church or to a memorial of donor’s choice.
