It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Clifford MacDougall of Riverview on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Bideford, PEI, he was the son of the late James and Marion (MacDonald) MacDougall.

Clifford loved nothing more than spending time with family, friends, and neighbours. He was a great storyteller, was always quick to help, and loved to laugh and joke around. He enjoyed being outside tinkering in his garage, working on his lawn, and proudly growing the best cucumbers and tomatoes in his garden every year. He loved NASCAR racing and golfing with family and friends. Clifford was a devoted family man and husband to his wife, Marlene, for 58 years. He was always there to help his kids and was the kind of grandfather who gave big hugs and belly laughs, picked his grandkids up after school for years, and never missed a game or recital. He often said being a grandfather was the best part of life. Clifford worked as a valued forklift mechanic all of his working career, beginning in Toronto before moving back to the Maritimes. He retired from Johnston Equipment in 2008.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Marlene (Ford), daughter Tracey Cote (Gilles), son Michael MacDougall (Jennifer), his cherished grandchildren; Kayla, Emily, Braeden and Maegan, sisters; Doris Maynard (Earl- deceased), Marion Pineau (Vernon-deceased) and Ruth Clarke (Bill-deceased), brothers; Carl (Debbie), Lee (Cathy) and Bruce (Nancy), sisters-in-law; Sandra Campbell (Joe) and Shirley McKenna (Stephen), brother-in-law; David Ford (Thana), as well as his many cherished nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Sharon, parents-in-law Ralph and Etta Ford, brother-in-law Ralph Ford Jr (Claudia), and nephew Dale Ford.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to the Grass Home in Riverview, NB, Dr. James Hudson, and Dr. Robert Forbes for their wonderful care through the years. There have been so many kind, compassionate care staff, nurses, doctors, and support staff who have been part of his journey.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 1-3 PM. Interment in Bideford-Conway United Church Cemetery in PEI will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The NB Heart and Stroke Foundation in Clifford’s memory.
