We regret to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Margaret Ann MacDonald, at her home in Riverview, New Brunswick, on July 26, 2025. Formerly from Dominion, Cape Breton, she was the loving daughter of the late Keith and Simone ‘Monie’ MacDonald.

Margaret Ann worked for many years in retail, but her true passion was rescuing and caring for animals, especially dogs. Her love for canines was evident to anyone who knew her. One of her favourite pastimes was going for walks with her girl, Wiggles. Besides Wiggles, she had saved many more four-legged lives over the years including Rowan, Boo, DeeDee, and Raven.

In Cape Breton, Margaret Ann is survived by her sisters-by-affection Kelly (Derrick) Hayes and MaryBeth (Chris) Lantz, as well as their children Kaitlynn, James, and Selina. She will be sorely missed by her loving aunts Bina (Hec) Gouthro and Dianne O’Neil, as well as her cousins Russell (Angela), Donnie, Sandy (Amanda), and Megan (Shaun).

In New Brunswick, she is mourned by her partner Angus & his family, as well as her many friends.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Alex and Selina O’Neil, paternal grandparents Ron and Anne MacDonald, uncles Alex and Darrell (Theresa), & aunts Diane and Kim (Kerry).

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview (869-2007) on Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Margaret Ann will be laid to rest with her parents in a private ceremony at Calvary Cemetery, Dominion, NS, at a later date.
