Charles "Bing" O’Brien of Riverview NB passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Born in Gaspe PQ, he was the son of the late Charlie and Sadie (Miller) O’Brien.

Bing devoted more than 25 years of his career to VIA Rail Canada, which was what brought him and his family to Riverview NB in 1988.

Bing loved hunting, 4 wheeling and spending hours on the phone chatting with his dearest friend Wayne Lucas. He was a doting grandfather who loved to spend time with his beautiful grandchildren, Miya and Pippa.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Clarice O’Brien (Walsh), daughter Kellie O’Brien (Neal Stacey), son Willam O’Brien (Alisa Ainsworth O’Brien), 2 sisters; Debbie O’Brien Boulay and Sherry O’Brien, brother Boyd O’Brien (Gertrude Gaul), cherished grandchildren; Miya and Pippa. Aside from his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Tony O’Brien and his beloved cat Sam aka Sambo.

Respecting his wishes, cremation will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (506-869-2007). A celebration of life with immediate family will be planned in due course for next spring in his hometown of Gaspe PQ.
