Donna Lynn (Burlock)
Colpitts bravely fought the good fight with tenacity and strength. On
December 8th, 2025, she breathed her last breath on this earth and
entered into joyful rest with Jesus. Born in Moncton, she was the
daughter of the late Earl and Mamie (née Trites)
Burlock.
Upon reflection
… Donna had many careers throughout her life. Starting as a
dedicated laboratory technologist, she branched out into full-time
motherhood, making and sustaining a warm loving home. She was a
talented seamstress, photo journalist, and baker/chef. Her culinary
skills were not limited to family meals, as she worked at a local
restaurant establishment accomplishing everything kitchen related. You
could say her good friends talked her into it. Upon first glance,
Donna may have appeared quiet, but her works spoke loudly. She
volunteered both locally and globally throughout her life,
having blessed many people with her creations. Always looking for fun
around every corner, she was never found without a joke or riddle in
her pocket, and a vision for another local adventure (JMA). At a time
when most people may consider slowing down in their working lives,
Donna decided to begin another journey, this time as an innkeeper. She
then hired her best friend and together for the next 17 years they
owned and operated Falcon Ridge Inn. The Inn was a stage to display
their warmth, care, and generosity to all who entered, and it produced
some of the best family memories. Ask any one of her grandkids about
it! Not just any ordinary grandmother gets the title of "Grammie
Three Stoves". Donna was an exemplary
Grammie.
Although it harassed
for over 30 yrs, not once was cancer ever given centre stage in this
beautiful life. The spotlight was never shawn on the pain, the ruckus,
or the upheaval; it did not dominate. Donna never complained, she
never gave up hope, she never believed lies and she forever trusted
Jesus.
She will be deeply
missed and lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend of 54 +
years, Peter Colpitts; her daughters, Christa Colpitts (Tim Comeau),
Becky Jones (Daryl), and Angela Gallant (Roderick); Donna’s
cherished grandchildren, Samuel and Nicole Jones, and
Alexander, Aris, and Massinissa Amellal.
She will never be
forgotten by sisters Janet Barton (Robert) and Nancy Burlock, brothers
Henry Burlock and Stewart Burlock, as well as many nephews, nieces and
precious friends.
Special mention of in
laws Kenneth Milner (Marjorie), Hugh Colpitts (Judy) and Beverly
Colpitts.
Donna was predeceased
by sisters Barbara Milner, Linda Barron, and Eleanor Sherwood;
sisters-in-law Florence Burlock and Marjorie
Burlock; brothers-in-law James Barron, William Sherwood, and
Victor Colpitts.
