It is with profound sadness that we announce the December 17,
2025 passing of Peter John Worthington of Riverview. Surrounded by
those who loved him the most, Peter left this world a better place
because of his presence.
He was so lucky to be
born into the loving home of Tom and Betty Worthington (née
Phillips).
While his siblings really wanted a puppy, Lee
Torvi (Gerry), Elaine McGlenister (Mike), Dave (Mary Beth), and Scott
(Janet) welcomed their little brother into their family.
Peter will be forever loved and missed by his partner
Karen Gagnon with whom he shared 20 of his happiest years, his
children Patricia LeBlanc (Andrew) and Sergeant James Worthington
(Christina), his stepchildren Adam Gagnon (Karine) and Kristen Gagnon,
and his sister-in-law Pam Hunter.
While the
majority of his career was spent working as a regional manager for Day
& Ross Dedicated, his greatest and most loved role in life was
that of Grandad to Amelia (Patricia’s), Austin
(James’), Félix (Adam’s), Zaiden, Kian,
and Aurora (Kristen’s).
He was the
BEST Grandad and so proud of each of them.
Peter was an avid golfer, stamp collector, and consistently
disappointed Maple Leafs fan.
Besides his
parents, Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Jayne
(née Hunter) to whom he was a devoted husband for twenty
one years.
As per Peter’s wishes,
the family will be receiving relatives and
friends on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 1:00pm - 3:00
p.m. at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation
Centre, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (506-869-2007). A
private family casting ceremony will take place in the spring at one
of Peter’s favourite places. Donations in his memory may be
made to a charity of choice.
Peter and
Karen would like to thank:
The amazing team of
doctors, nurses, and support staff who helped care for him during his
illness.
Tim and Judy Dignard for the many drives to
medical appointments, fresh baking, and help around the home.
Kristen for many drives, running errands, and dog sitting during
long chemo days.
James, Adam, Andrew, and Zaiden for many
hours of work in the yard, pool, and deck.
Patricia for
homemade soups, cookies, and pie.
Our neighbours
Sheryl (Sue) and Barry for spontaneously mowing our front
lawn.
All the grandkids and all their parents
for the crafts, pictures, visits, and videos to make us smile
throughout this journey.
