Patricia
"Pat" Whitehouse of Riverview passed away on March 6, 2026
at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Yarmouth, NS., she was the daughter
of the late J. Adolphus and Anne Morton (Thibeau).
You may know her as
"Mort", "Patsy", "Patricia", or
"Pat" but my sister, Lisa, and I just called her Mom. She
LIVED for the Yarmouth High school reunions, and the opportunity to
reconnect and catch up with everyone. She has held true to the
statement that she has made right up until now..."I will be 16
until the day that I die!!". At 9:00pm on the 5th, we celebrated
Mom's 17th Birthday. With this milestone in her life, there
should be celebration and jiving no matter where you are. Lisa said it
best, "Rock Around The Clock FOREVER!!!".
Pat was formerly
employed with T. Eaton Co., and Weight Watchers. She was highly
involved in all our activities, from Guides and Scouts, to Figure
Skating and Speed Skating. She volunteered for Riverview Elementary
hotdog lunches, and in the Riverview Jr High Library. If you are
between the ages of 52 and 57, you likely had her as your grade 5
Catechism teacher! Mom got involved with the Immaculate Heart Ladies
Society soon after moving to Riverview in 1979, so if you had cinnamon
bread at a reception or event in the hall, it was likely from our
kitchen! Mom was a very familiar face at the Parish Bazaar, any Parish
Fundraiser, and warmed many shoulders through the Prayer Shawl
Ministry. To our mother, strangers were friends she hadn't met
yet.
She will be dearly
missed by her daughter Lisa Gaboury of Dartmouth, son Jeff (Heather)
of Pittsburgh, and grandchildren Keira and Cody, as well as several
cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mom had many close friends who were like
family, too many to include here, and will be missed by so many. Aside
from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Warren, and her
sister Audrey Milbery.
From the bottom of our
hearts, we thank you for the absolute joy that you've all brought to
our Mom's life.
The family will be
receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (506-869-2007) on
Monday, March 9, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service will
take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 5 Fatima Dr.
Riverview, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11:00am. The interment will
take place in Alderwood Cemetery at a later date.
In Pat’s
memory, in lieu of flowers or donations, if your family or friends are
nearby, give them a big hug. If they’re not nearby, contact
them and tell them how much they mean to you.
