We sadly announce the sudden death of Melissa Smith following a brief illness on June 6, 2026, at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Sussex, she was the daughter of the late William and Elsie (nee Belyea) McCrea.

Melissa was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening in her earlier years

She will be greatly missed by her sons Darren (Beth) Parlee and Jason (Toni) Parlee, daughter Simone Stone, daughter-in-law Karen Parlee, brothers James (Shelia) McCrea and Richard "Rick" (Edith) McCrea, grandchildren Michael, Katie, Stephen, Adam, Jasmine, Cheyanne, Emily, Miranda and great-granddaughter Sadie, and several nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Alan George "Jim" Smith, son Stephen Parlee, and son-in-law Derek Stone.

Honouring her wishes, cremation will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview (506-869-2007) and a private burial will be held at a later date.
