Our beloved son,
Andrew Perry WELDON Hogue, lost his fight with cancer and died on the
morning of June 9th at the age of 37 leaving
his bereft parents Blane Hogue and Isobel Weldon Hogue and his much
loved sister Clare in Australia. He will also be greatly missed by his
dear friend Lucie Aounetse in Moncton.
Weldon was born in
Calgary Alberta on August 25, 1988 and grew up with so many lifelong
friends in Elbow Park and Marda Loop. After
graduation from Western Canada High School he went to University of
Lethbridge where again he made lifelong friends. He later moved to
Vancouver where he studied at Vancouver Community College and started
his career as a highly accomplished barber/stylist. He travelled
extensively throughout Canada and the U.S. and went twice to Japan and
several times to his father Blane’s homeland of
Australia where there are many grieving cousins, uncles and aunts. He
went with his parents almost every year since he was a baby to his
mother Isobel’s birthplace in New Brunswick and
spent time in the summer with family in Shediac and Moncton. In 2023
he moved permanently to Moncton where Blane and Isobel had moved to in
2019. There he worked first at the great Rock and Razors Barbershop
and then with the amazing team at Handsome Devils
Barbershop.
Weldon leaves to mourn
his family and friends in Riverview and Sackville NB and Halifax NS,
and his many friends in Calgary, especially Evangelos Lambrinoudis and
Mike Cashion, and in Vancouver Sally and Owen plus former spouse Hana
Allen, and his many friends in Moncton, especially his very supportive
colleagues at Handsome Devils Barbershop who were so outstanding
during Weldon’s final illness.
Blane and Isobel wish
to extend grateful thanks to Dr. A. Robbins, Dr. M. Harb and
Dr. Doucette, plus the incredibly caring nurses, staff and volunteers
at the Moncton Oncology Clinic, the Moncton ER, and the Palliative
Care nurses and staff. They each made this awful journey a bit
easier.
Weldon’s
family will be receiving relatives and friends on Sunday, June 14,
2026 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Cobb’s Funeral Home, 330
Whitepine Road, Riverview.
Flowers are
respectfully declined and if desired a donation can be made in
Weldon’s name to PAW, Moncton, or do as Weldon would and
perform a random act of kindness in his memory.
