Frank Wood, of Riverview, passed away peacefully on Friday,
June 12, 2026 at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in River Hebert, NS, he was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy
(nee Porter) Wood.
Throughout his working career, Frank was a Credit Manager
with the T. Eaton Company for over 20 years before pursuing a career
as a mechanic. Frank had a natural talent for working with his hands
and took great pride in being able to fix just about anything. He
loved spending time tinkering in his garage, where there was always a
project on the go. Whether it was repairing something broken, building
something new, or helping someone solve a problem, Frank was happiest
when he was busy working with his hands. Known for his generosity and
willingness to help others, he was always ready to lend a hand to
family, friends, neighbours, or anyone in need. His practical skills,
resourcefulness, and kind-hearted nature made him someone people could
always count on.
Frank enjoyed snowmobiling during the winter months and
spending time with those he loved. Above all else, his greatest joy in
life was being a father and a Papa. He cherished every moment spent
with his children and grandchildren, and the love, guidance, and
support he gave them will remain with them forever.
He will be forever missed and remembered by his loving wife
of 47 years Heather (Leaman) Wood; sons, Kevin (Joanna), Tim (Anita),
sisters Melba (Carl), brothers: John, David (Dorine), grandchildren:
Holly, Winter, Walker, Alaska and his several nieces and nephews. He
is also survived by his daughters, Kim (Marc), Sheri (Stephen) and
their children.
Aside from his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister
Barb MacKenzie, infant son Jonathan, and sister-in-law Dora
Leaman.
A special thank you to Extra Mural for all their help and
especially to his favourite nurse Jane.
His family will be receiving relatives and friends on Monday,
June 15, 2026 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a funeral service taking
place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 2:00pm at Cobb’s Funeral
Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (506-869-2007).
Donations in his memory can be made to the Hospice SENB Albert House
or a charity of the donor’s choice.
