Orley Mark Fowler of
Moncton passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026 at Pavillon Landry,
Moncton. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late
Orley and Iris (Hicks) Fowler.
Always a gentleman,
Mark was a devoted son; a loving husband, father, and brother; a loyal
friend; and a doting and teasing "Pa" to his six beautiful
grandchildren who brought him so much joy.
Some of his happiest
times were spent with family and friends at the family cottage at Long
Reach on the Saint John River. Mark was an avid reader, especially of
British history and the two World Wars. He enjoyed all kinds of music
(especially the music played by his talented sons!) and traveling with
friends and family.
In his school years,
Mark played rugby and basketball and participated in track and field.
In his later years, he enjoyed golf and curling. When his boys were
young, he was a Cub Scout leader and baseball coach. He was a charter
member of the Riverview Gyro International and Moncton Probus
clubs.
He will be dearly
missed by his wife Jocelyn Fowler; sons Gregory Fowler, Richard
Fowler, and Jason (Nancy) Fowler; sister Elaine Casey (Joe Brown);
grandchildren Nicholas Fowler, Emily Fowler, Laura (Dawson) Boon,
Katherine Fowler, Richie Fowler, and Elizabeth Fowler; as well as
several nieces and nephews.
Respecting
Mark’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Cobb’s
Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview
(506-869-2007). A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, July
11th, 2026 at Cobb’s Funeral Home
from 1pm-3pm. Donations to Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation
or St. Paul’s United Church would be appreciated by his
family.
