With the same strength and determination that defined her life, Gail Susan (Barnhill)Boudreau left us on her own terms in the early morning of Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Lakeview Manor in Riverview, NB.

Born in May 1947, to Joan (Cooper) and George Stanley Barnhill, Gail grew into a woman who followed her passions.

She received her diploma in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 1967 anddedicated her career to improving the health of her patients. That dedication extended to all those around her - even her fellow residents at Lakeview Manor when she went to live there.

Gail started her employment with The Moncton Hospital where she worked for 16 years. She then went on to work at several nursing homes: Spencer Home, Lakeview Manor, and Forest Dale nursing homes before retiring and working part-time at Tidewater until she needed to care for her husband at home. Gail married Joseph Alexander (Alec) Boudreau on September 8, 1973. They shared more than 47 years before his passing in 2021.

Gail is survived by her brother Edward Barnhill and his wife Ulla of Punta Gorda, Florida and her great friend Brenda Condon of Riverview. She will also be dearly missed by her community at Lakeview Manor where she was loved and cared for by staff, volunteers, and the other residents and their families these past 3 1/2 years.

Those who know Gail well know that she adored animals and especially dogs and birds. Even as her mobility declined, she insisted on filling the bird feeders outside her window.

Gail loved it when people brought animals to the nursing home: cuddling the dogs and even letting a snake be draped around her neck! She diligently collected supplies to send to The Atlantic Wildlife Institute in support of their work rehabilitating wild animals. She was also an avid knitter, loved games (like Skip Bo), and loved being outdoors.

A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Lakeview Manor who not only looked after Gail with exceptional care but were such a support to Brenda in Gail's last 11 days in palliative care.

In accordance with Gail's wishes, cremation has taken place at Cobb's Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (506 869 2007). A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:AM with a reception to follow.

In memory of Gail, donations to Lakeview Manor, The Atlantic Wildlife Institute, or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
