Archie Campbell, 82, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at
the Moncton Hospital on Thursday, February 9 with his loving family by
his side. Born in Milltown NB on August 14th,
1929, he was the son of the late Roy and Audrey (Smith)
Campbell.
Archie graduated from Milltown High School in 1948. He then
attended Normal School in Fredericton where he graduated with his
teacher’s license in 1955. He began teaching at St. George
High, moved on to MacDonald Consolidated School in Kingston, and then
moved to Caledonia Regional High, where he retired in 1989 after 34
years of teaching.
Some of Archie’s passions were gardening, reading,
the Boston Red Sox, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and of course having a
good ole’ laugh with the boys at Tim Horton’s. He
was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He and Sylvia spent their summers at their camp in Long Reach where he
enjoyed riding his tractor Cubby. He was a past member of the order of
the Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge Victoria Chapter No. 26 F&AM
in St. Stephen and Coverdale Lodge No.52 F&AM in Riverview and
was a member of St. John The Baptist Anglican Church in
Riverview.
Archie will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Sylvia (nee
Smith); daughters, Melanie Campbell (Mike) of Salisbury, and Bonnie
MacFadyen (Curtis) of Moncton; brother in law, Fraser Smith (Noeline)
of Long Reach; sister in law, Rosalie Campbell of Ottawa; several
nieces and nephews, his precious grandchildren, Adam, Cole and Thea
and loving cats Chester and Chloe. Other than his parents, he was
predeceased by a sister, Barbara Landry, and a brother,
Eugene.
Visitation will be held at Cobb’s Funeral Home 330
Whitepine Rd. Riverview (869-2007), on Sunday, February
12th, from 2-5 PM. The funeral service will
take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on
Monday, February 13, at 11 AM, with Rev. Brent Ham
officiating. The interment will take place at a later
date at the the St. James Anglican Church Cemetery in Long Reach.
