Kurt Cobb
Kurt began his career during his graduating year from Riverview High School in 1987. Now over 33 years
later, Kurt still works with the same passion that he did in his youth. Prior to the opening of Cobb's
Funeral Home in 2007, he worked with funeral homes in Riverview, Moncton, and Petitcodiac.
A strong believer in continuing education, Kurt received his life insurance license in 2015 and later
became a certified Life Celebrant in 2019. These designations allow him to better serve the families and
communities we care about.
When not at the office, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as time at the golf
course or the beach.
Karen Cobb
Karen has lived in Riverview most of her life and takes great pride in having raised two sons, Ryan and
Alex, in the same house that her husband Kurt grew up in. Since the funeral home opened, she has
worked alongside Kurt while maintaining her over thirty-year career in customer service and retail. In
2018 as demands grew, she left her previous employment to focus completely on the needs of the
families the funeral home serves.
In her spare time, she can often be seen walking the newest member of the Cobb family, Maggie, or
playing a little golf.
Mike Read
Mike first started his journey as a funeral director as a Co-op education student in high
school, following his graduation he continued to pursue funeral directorship. In his career, he has had the
opportunity in over 18 years of experience to work in the Greater Moncton Area, Saint John and Montague, PE.
Being a Riverview native he was given the opportunity to work with Kurt in 2018 and has been a valued part
of the team ever since then. Outside of work Mike can usually be found in various spots around Riverview or
enjoying his time at home mowing his lawn.
Ash Aych
After moving from Manitoba in 2020, Ash joined the Cobb's team as an apprentice in 2021. She graduated top of
the province from CCFS in spring 2022 and gained her Funeral Director and Embalmer's licence in fall 2022.
Since settling into Riverview, she has enjoyed getting to know the community and surrounding areas.
Irene Knowles
Originally from Bathurst, Irene moved to Moncton in 1992 where she worked in healthcare for
28 years; 25 of those at The Moncton Hospital in the Family Medicine Residency Program. She
has a love of animals and has rescued squirrels, ducks and baby foxes, but her love pets are
currently her 2 dogs (A Retired Show dog German Shephard, and a spoiled PomChi) as well as
2 rescue cats. Irene obtained her bachelor's degree in administration which has allowed her to
be creative and think outside the box in business ventures. When not working, Irene loves the
outdoors either puttering around doing yard work, gardening, walking the dogs or out on the
motorbike with her husband. Irene also has a love of traveling and has been to many places on
her “bucket-list” but still has more to check off.
Bill Pickett
For the past 10 years, Bill has been employed full-time with Lounsbury's Chevrolet in Moncton in roles
such as lot attendant and in the parts department. He serves as the organist at Holy Family Church in
Moncton and presently also serves on the Parish Council. He joined Cobb's as a part-time funeral service
assistant in 2017 in addition to his main career. Bill has always enjoyed both playing and watching
sports when he has the chance.
Dennis Woods
Dennis Retired from Riverview Fire Rescue, after 27 years service. He has been a helping hand at Cobb's
Funeral Home since Kurt and Karen opened in 2007 and now in retirement has become more active. Born and
raised in Riverview, Dennis enjoys golf, waking Sydney (he and his wife's beloved golden retriever),
cycling and anything else that takes him outdoors.
Mark Knowles
Mark first gained interest in the funeral profession because of his interests in Egyptology and other
studies. He started his career in Moncton in 1978 and has been employed as a director since then. With
over 40 years of experience Mark has been an owner/operator, funeral director and embalmer. Although he
is currently self employed outside of the funeral profession he still retains his license and is a big
part of our team.
Terry Vickery
Terry's interest in funeral services began in high school as he completed a co-op program at James M.
Hill High School in Miramichi, NB. Following high school, Terry went on to study funeral services at
Kingstech NSCC, then returned to Miramichiworking for local funeral homes in the area. Terry moved to
the Moncton area 20 years ago and returned to school pursuing a career in Mental Health and Addictions,
employed with Horizon Health Network full-time for the past 18 years. He joined Cobb's as a part-time
funeral service assistant in December 2023. Terry enjoys spending time with his pug Finch at his
trailer on the Miramichi River.
Morgan Keil
Morgan moved from Nova Scotia in 2023 to start an apprenticeship with Cobb's Funeral Home. Her care for
people, interest in different religions and commitment to teamwork are what drew her to a career in the
funeral and allied health services industry. Morgan's interests include thrifting for unique trinkets and
meeting the dogs of the Riverview community.
